Armin, I believe this is actually an issue with the X server's Present
extension implementation.

Keith - it sounds like Armin is using a video player, and minimizing it/moving
it offscreen in order to listen to the audio track.  But Present vsync'ing it
to 1 FPS while off-screen is making it unable to keep up with the audio
processing.

I do wonder if we should just vsync to 15/30/60 FPS...it seems like there are a
bunch of applications that behave unexpectedly when vsync'd to 1 FPS...
