...and now it is also hitting me on another intel-based system. As I could not
reliably work on my main system (Precision 5110, see reports above) I have
switched to my other laptop, a HP Elite X2 1012 G1 (tablet-type, Skylake CoreM 
Intel(R) Core(TM) m5-6Y54 CPU), and, again in LibreOffice, suddenly the screen
froze (but not the mouse) and I found this in syslog:
