I think the usage you describe looks like it would fix atomnuker's problem, but
it feels like an unintended consequence :)
VK_FORMAT_R8_UNORM being a required format for with storage support, we could
add a CTS test to verify that with ycbcr formats (adding that to my todo list).</pre>
