We are using a different game engine on Gentoo, because at the time of that decision the official one had several issues which are fixed now AFAIK, but still it's a slightly different software: <a href="https://github.com/mickael9/ioq3">https://github.com/mickael9/ioq3</a> However, I don't expect that you can reproduce it with this one either.
