I think the same - it's not a Mesa or Kernel issue.
I had the next output of dmesg after crash - Out of memory: Kill process 10052
(7DaysToDie.x86_)
I've resolved the issue via adding of swap space.
If you have the same issue - try to resolve it by adding of swap space.
