Unfortunately it does not but the behavior has changed a bit so I will try to
explain. In one word the backlight seems now to be disabled later in the
process.
Before as quickly as I hit enter the screen went off, now i see the typical
litle "tiring" of the switch and one second later or so the backlight is
disabled.
An other interesting point is that now it do the same when trying to switch
back to the intel driver. For one second or so I have the backlight back then
it shutdown. [And in a practical point of view it makes thing words in that
regards]
Look likes your patch avoid one disabling of the backlight but a second occurs
after.
