Please boot with drm.debug=0xe added to your kernel cmdline and kms enabled,
and then attach the complete dmesg (doing that via ssh is probably easiest).

Also please remove the ati blob driver completely from your system in case it
interferes badly somehow (they do some ugly stuff ...).
