This isn't even about intelfb as far as I can tell. You don't have it enabled
in your config, and instead you have the i915 enabled. Which is good.

Please provide the dmesg from early boot to the problem, with drm.debug=0xe
module parameter set.

If you want to speed up the process, please git bisect from 3.11 to 3.12 to
find out what broke your setup.
