The bug that I'm presuming underlies all of these gen4 corruption issues is a
misprogramming of GPU state - I have seen the flicker persist for a few kernels
now and would not expect it to be a factor. (Except that there may be an
eventual w/a required in the kernel, we have not applied one recently.)
