I have further evidence that the errors are tied to the suspend state.  At 2 h
32 m of uptime, I locked the screen thus starting the clock to suspend the
monitor.  The following is the dmesg output after leaving the system alone.

Note that 2 h 32 m is 9120 sec.

The first error occurs approx 13 min after I locked the screen; the next error
occurs approx 1 min after the first.
