Image of screen corruption
I have an Intel graphics contoller,
$ lspci |grep VGA
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Inter Corporation Core Processor Integrated
Graphics Controller (rev 02)
I am using kms/drm. On older kernels (e.g. 3.6) during startup, kms would be
enable and it would switch to the high resolution consols (later, X could also
ue the graphics contoller correctly). On newer kernels (e.g. 3.7 and 3.8) I
observed the corruption (see attached image) when kms was enabled. Other than
the screen corruption in both the text console and X, everything worked fine.
I used git bisect to narrow down the problem to commit
edef7e685da05c13cce50c0126189c80fe2c8f71
