Upped the importance to blocking, as the bug blocks normal use of Linux in UEFI
mode, and use of normal use with external monitor in CSM mode, thus there's no
way to use Linux with a typical internal+external monitor combo. This is due to
BIOS giving incorrect info on bpp.

My suggested fixes for the bug are the two patches submitted 7 Sep 2013, a bit
more than a month ago, to add ignoring of the buggy bpp info based on a) a
quirk for known affected machines b) a kernel parameter for unknown affected
machines.

The bug remains unsolved for months. Things have been moving forward and there
are some other related bugs (which have been isolated and forked) to resolve.

While people are working with related bugs & fixes to tem, can't we finally
move forward and resolve the primary bug (incorrect bpp value given by bios)
with the patches linked to above to ignore the incorrect value? Is there a
reason why the bug shouldn't be fixed with the patch(es) linked to above?
