That's correct.

I presume you've tried unplugging VGA, and plugging/unplugging DP and HDMI, at
the motherboard end? With TV on.

If you boot with *only* DP or HDMI connected (unplug VGA, try both, one at a
time) does the BIOS screen show up?

In this case it might indeed be useful to find a working kernel, if you say
there was one.
