I have no idea what that mean but RES for X now says 400MB:
  PID USER      PR  NI    VIRT    RES    SHR S  %CPU %MEM     TIME+ COMMAND

And I can see for example in LibreOffice missing background from highlighted
menu :) And in Geany text is displayed again after last row :D
