Does a passive DP->hdmi cable work by chance (it'll show up as one of the HDMIx
connectors)?

Otherwise please boot with drm.debug=0xe added to your kernel cmdline, then
plug in the DP screen and then grab the complete dmesg and attach it here.
Doesn't really matter what userspace is running, this is all in the kernel.
