So what happens here is that the monitor requests a DP link retraining (which
is per-spec), we randomly fail to retrain the link correctly and that repeats
ad nauseam. Also we fire off a uevent which causes the DE to query the outputs
which fails to detect the DP causing it to switch off the external. On the next
uevent, it finds the DP again, causing the DE to re-enable the extended
desktop. Also repeat ad nauseam.
