Hello Chris,
I've compiled xf86-video-intel (2.99.912) with the --enable-debug=full option
and have included it above. Let me know if you need more output from it (I
limited it to the first 200 and last 2000 lines)
Not sure I know what you mean by reproducing the problem outside a window
manager. I can (and have) tried running it as a XBMC session, but it starts up
on both monitors regardless, i.e, no second desktop is being used.
The problem is of course to have the regular desktop on the primary output, and
XBMC running in the background on the other, which isn't possible running it
outside a WM/DE.
I have tested this with several different DEs to eliminate issues with one
single package though:
- IceWM
- Cinnamon (which works perfectly on Ubuntu 13.04 btw., incl. 23.976 on IVB)
- Fluxbox
- XFCE4
- Unity
- Mate
- Gnome
- etc.
So I am fairly sure it is not a problem with the specific WM I am using. All
the above have been tested on the current (Haswell i7-4765T) test system.
When I start XBMC from within a WM (DE), it pops up on the first output (which
is a VGA). It is set to use the DisplayPort however, and changing it between
the two has no effect. (It actually stated it was running off the DP, when it
in fact was on the VGA.)
EDIT: I just saw your comment on the logfile. I'll include the full output, xz
compressed.
