Bug ID: 87578
Summary: Massive display corruption with xf86-video-intel
2.99.917
Product: xorg
Version: git
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: BSD (Others)
Status: NEW
Severity: major
Priority: medium
Component: Driver/intel
Assignee: chris at chris-wilson.co.uk
Reporter: ftigeot at wolfpond.org
QA Contact: intel-gfx-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
I see massive display corruption with xf86-video-intel 2.99.917 on a DragonFly
4.1/Ivy-Bridge system.
Windows contents or text strings don't get properly drawn, showing blank areas.
Rectangular areas of the screen stay black or display the background root
window content etc...
Sometimes random memory values are visible in the form of bright and changing
pixels in the few top lines of the screen.
I have bisected this issue; it started with commit:
b4872f74c05a92c91d7b57146eb35ed2ecc86d97
sna: Avoid pwriting large batches
Reverting it fixes the corruption.
