Try video.use_vendor_backlight=1.

Also "i915.i915_enable_rc6=7 i915.i915_enable_fbc=1 i915.lvds_downclock=1" is
completely useless and more often dangerous. Fortunately for you the dangerous
options in there do not match the module parameters.

If you look at the old kernel (best shown by the Xorg.log for 3.15) I guess it
is using the acpi backlight.
