I have a Gentoo Linux system and a Intel DQ35JO motherboard with and integrated
video chipset. I was using GNOME 3.12 when the screen suddently froze, except
for the mouse pointer.

These are the relevant entries from the journalctl log:

/sys/class/drm/card0/error
