Didn't you forget about "-graphicssystem native"?
At 8pt font size results are not stable. Sometimes in can be fast like there is
no bug at all. And sometimes it lags. I caught a moment  when even 9pt was
fluent for a moment. But nevertheless 8pt seems like a threshold. 
It seems switching to Mozilla and back improves a situation for a some time.

Looks like current master has some improvements. At the very beginning i
haven't noticed any dependencies on font size.
