This system has the opposite issue (the glyph mask is also discarded for rgb
glyphs!):

Sync time adjustment is 0.0164 msecs.

Turning off GLYPHS_TO_DST:

64000000 trep @   0.0005 msec (1930000.0/sec): Char in 30-char aa line (Charter
24)
200000000 trep @   0.0001 msec (6670000.0/sec): Char in 80-char rgb line

which starts to look very similar to your results.
