Right, it didn't actually disable FBC. Using i915.ko as a module? I guess you
will need to add i915.enable_fbc as a module parameter then - e.g.
echo "options i915 enable_fbc=0" >> /etc/modprobe.d/i915.conf

And you may also need to rebuild any initramfs.
