GPU crash dump
I am using a Lenovo x230. I was using the integrated display and an external
monitor via DisplayPort and watching a video in fullscreen on the integrated
display. The other monitor was just showing firefox. The video froze and I was
unable to close the window, though firefox on the second display and my window
manager stayed responsive. A couple of seconds later, both screens turned black
for a moment and afterwards the video continued to play. I still had to restart
X since my terminal started showing weird symbols instead of certain characters
(think: most are displayed correctly, but n and t are suddenly displayed as
something from an entirely differend unicode range). Since I re-started X,
everything is working fine again.

[71833.402842] [drm] stuck on render ring
[71833.402843] [drm] GPU crash dump saved to /sys/class/drm/card0/error
[71833.402844] [drm] GPU hangs can indicate a bug anywhere in the entire gfx
stack, including userspace.
[71833.402844] [drm] Please file a _new_ bug report on bugs.freedesktop.org
against DRI -> DRM/Intel
[71833.402844] [drm] drm/i915 developers can then reassign to the right
component if it's not a kernel issue.
[71833.402844] [drm] The gpu crash dump is required to analyze gpu hangs, so
please always attach it.
PS: I think it is still kind of cool that my GPU can crash and I can just
restart X and continue to work like nothing happened. Thanks for the awesome
work!
