cat /sys/class/drm/card0/error > error.txt

Frequently, the screen hangs for 20-40 secs, and/or weird output is on the
screen. Sometimes, the desktop recovers automatically, sometimes a restart of
the xserver is required. That happens especially when using the Unity desktop,
seldomly using LXDE. With Unity, it happens ~every 2 minutes.

Kernel ring buffer says:

[ 256.978995] [drm] stuck on render ring
[ 256.979005] [drm] GPU crash dump saved to /sys/class/drm/card0/error
[ 256.979006] [drm] GPU hangs can indicate a bug anywhere in the entire gfx
stack, including userspace.
[ 256.979007] [drm] Please file a _new_ bug report on bugs.freedesktop.org
against DRI -> DRM/Intel
[ 256.979008] [drm] drm/i915 developers can then reassign to the right
component if it's not a kernel issue.
[ 256.979008] [drm] The gpu crash dump is required to analyze gpu hangs, so
please always attach it.
