Could you please check if you also face the hang with uxa?
Just checking if it is related to other hangs we are facing already.

To check that just create a file /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/01-uxa.conf with:

Section "Device"
        Identifier "Intel Graphics"
        Driver "intel"
        Option "AccelMethod" "uxa"
