I agree that the result of the bisect looks suspicious. So the bisection was
repeated, starting with 3.17 as good and 3.18-rc1 as bad. The result was
exactly as previously reported.

I shall now perform a new bisection, starting with 3.17 as good and 3.18-rc5 as
bad. It will take some time for me to get a result but I will eventually report
back.
