Got Aava Inari 8 (8086:0f31 too) with backlight level fixed at boot (and a
weird "milk flooding" when DPMS kicks in...) -- should it be safe to try your
patch given the same SoC but quite different panel and probably firmware
(64-bit one)?

The magic constants in both

look the same at least and the panel specific delay handling seems to have been
dropped in the latter but that's about as much as I can read in interdiff.
