This time, something like a minute after the hang and as I was trying to
resurrect the ssh connection, the machine showed signs of life.

I have a few screenlets running on the desktop among which a digital clock and
two cpu graph indicators.

The seconds started ticking and the cpu graphs started moving. No mouse or
keyboard reaction but cpu1 graph was behaving normally showing fluctuations.
cpu2 graph was moving but with at zero usage flat.

Maybe it's just a side effect.
