I am not sure. I like returning Unknown there for the ioctl failure - actually
cleaning the dead outputs at that point is impossible (at least I can't
rearrange or destroy the outputs whilst the core is iterating over the array).
We could replace the udev notification with a poll for changes in output status
- but that is just replicating work already done by the kernel. And I can't see
a suitable hook for adding a global probe into the RandR query - unless I wrap
the rrGetInfo hook... Okay that is tempting.
