drm.debug is a kernel module parameter you need to set to enable more verbose
logging. For example in grub, hit 'e' in the menu, and add drm.debug=14 on the
linux boot command line, and hit f10 to continue booting.

dmesg seems to suck at parsing its parameters; it does not support setting any
parameters like that, and it would be too late for it at that point anyway.
