I see similar pipe underrun messages on my old Panasonic Toughbook CF-18 laptop
after updating to openSUSE 13.2 RC1 (kernel based on 3.16.3.) Before that it
was running openSUSE 11.4, where kernel was based on 3.7.10, and I never saw
these error messages. So the problem indeed qualifies as a regression.

The graphics chip in my laptop is:
