reverting c675949ec58 on a checkout of the v3.15 tag of the kernel.org source
from git fixes the issue. intel_backlight is back in /sys/class/backlight and
xbacklight works again.
/sys/kernel/debug/dri/0/i915_opregion is empty. i don't know if that is
expected or if i'm supposed to do something to have something logged there.
debugfs is mounted on /sys/kernel/debug.
i'm attaching a dmesg with the drm.debug=0xe parameter.
