Hi, I had a hard time to reproduce it as desired but finally here it is
attached.

I noticed that the system freeze/crash when I turn the external monitor back
on, and not when it is turned off.

There is other strange behaviours that I couldn't quite formalise: sometimes
unplugging or turning the monitor off does not have any effect on xorg, which
does not realise it just lost a monitor…
In that case, the system does not freeze/crash of course.
