I just got a Lenovo x250 i5-5300U and Intel HD 5500. I'm running Gentoo Linux
with the following packages:

KWin crashes after 10 or so minutes of use, every time! The laptop is
practically unusable in X.

With effects enables: colors bleed, everything deteriorates and eventually
hangs. I need to restart X, wich thankfully I can do by switching to TTY. I do
not have an error log at this point.

With effects disabled I get constant error output in dmesg like the following, 
but kwin and X do not hung! Screen flickers momentarily and that's all.
