Hmm, I never see the "disconnected to connected" counterpart for this:

[  239.547107] [drm:intel_hpd_irq_event] [CONNECTOR:17:HDMI-A-1] status updated
from connected to disconnected

and it seems it follows that we fail to send the uevent to userspace.

intel_hpd_irq_event() seems to think the connector status has not changed. This
has to be due to drm_helper_probe_single_connector_modes_merge_bits() changing
connector->status to connected and *not* sending the uevent *before* our
hotplug work func has a chance to run.

I am not sure how this should be fixed; there seem to be quite many moving
parts here.
