I've run this new IGT on Appala's machine remotely and it works fine. This
eliminates potential corner cases where i915 potentially wouldn't handle direct
transition from 90 to 270 degree rotation.

But playing with rotation via xrandr and intel_reg_read on PLANE_CTL and
PLANE_SURF registers suggests that Xorg is not trying to use hardware rotation
at all.
