[Bug 93208] Blank screen and dmesg errors with two external monitors

I'm not sure if this symptom is related or if it's really another issue:

When I have one external monitor attached via the miniDP port and I disconnect
it, I get a black screen on the laptop and the only way to get it back is to go
to a text console and restart X.

I see the following in dmesg:
