Product: Drivers
Version: 2.5

Hardware: i386
OS: Linux
Tree: Mainline
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P1

On my Toshiba NB305 the switch from text console to framebuffer fails
(sometimes) during boot - screen goes blank/black (but backlight is on), X
fails to start (hangs on "(II) xfree86: Adding drm device (/dev/dri/card0)").
The compuer is running and accessible from network.
The dmesg log contains the error:
[ 24.234862] toshiba_acpi: Toshiba Laptop ACPI Extras version 0.20
[ 24.235127] input: Toshiba input device as /devices/virtual/input/input7

I use debian 8 (testing/jessie).
It happens always if boot in default mode (systemd, quiet). When I am booting
in not quiet mode, it happens only sometimes (~50%). If the switch to fb
console pass, the computer runs correctly, X starts, etc.
