Hi

You mention "fails to boot". Can you please explain in details what exactly is
the problem? Do you just get a black screen? Can you reproduce this problem
100% of the times? Which outputs are connected to the machine when you boot?

After a quick check, it seems 3.17 already had FIFO underruns printed as
errors, so this is probably a regression. If you have the time and courage to
try to bisect this, it would really help us.

Also, please boot with drm.debug=0xe, reproduce the problem, then attach the
full dmesg file here.
