            Bug ID: 88017
Summary: "[drm] stuck on render ring" when viewing flash or
                    browsing some websites
           Product: DRI
           Version: XOrg git
          Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
                OS: Linux (All)
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: DRM/Intel
          Assignee: intel-gfx-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
          Reporter: andy.pickin at gmail.com

/sys/class/drm/card0/error

Occasionally when browsing some websites (eg twitter) and more often when
viewing flash videos (via Chrome & Firefox) the browser hangs and needs to be
restarted. On inspecting syslog the below error is seen:

[drm] stuck on render ring

and occasionally

[136328.181901] [drm] stuck on render ring
[136328.181905] [drm] GPU crash dump saved to /sys/class/drm/card0/error
[136328.181906] [drm] GPU hangs can indicate a bug anywhere in the entire gfx
stack, including userspace.
[136328.181907] [drm] Please file a _new_ bug report on bugs.freedesktop.org
against DRI -> DRM/Intel
[136328.181908] [drm] drm/i915 developers can then reassign to the right
component if it's not a kernel issue.
[136328.181909] [drm] The gpu crash dump is required to analyze gpu hangs, so
please always attach it.

/sys/class/drm/card0/error attached
