Yes,
Using intel_iommu=igfx_off seems to fix the problem.

I also had to update to a newer X (I was using 1.14). Using 1.17 I have a weird
problem with xf86-video-intel. Videos (like camera input) or VLC diplay with
artifacts. Does not happen if I use modeset for Xorg (instead of intel).

Thanks for the info on intel_iommu=igfx_off.
