I have the same problem on openSUSE, and I can confirm that the external
monitor attached to a 2014 MacBook Air via an Apple miniDP->VGA adapter is not
recognised anymore after updating to 4.1 yesterday. I have also tested this
with 4.2-rc3, but the problem persists. The external monitor works as expected
with 4.0.x kernels.

Also, could you please add Takashi Iwai to the CC list as per his post in the
