I updated the driver and:
$ cat /usr/local/bin/X-core 
#!/bin/bash

exec /usr/bin/X $@ -core

$ grep ServerPath /etc/sddm.conf
ServerPath=/usr/local/bin/X-core


So a proper core will be generated eventually :).
