I had the same problems on this system:
Model: Dell E5440
GPU: Intel Corporation Haswell-ULT Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:0a16]
(rev 09)
OS: Arch Linux 64bit
Kernel: 4.2.1

The machine is connected to an Iiyama XB2779QS-B1 screen using the Display Port
on a Dell docking station.

Downgrading the linux and linux-headers packages to 4.1.6 solved the problem
for me.
