I just noticed these lines in dmesg:

I don't know if they are related to the issue. But something is definitely
wrong here. Firmware v1.26 is loading correctly on 4.7 and earlier kernels, why
would I need to *downgrade* the firmware for *newer* kernels? Does not make
sense to me...
