dmesg output on 4.6.7 - here it's fine

I have not tried 4.8 release candidates.

4.6.7 (the last from the 4.6.x line) works fine.
4.7.0 (the first from the 4.7.x line) has the reported error.

I cannot check 4.7 release candidates due to lack of resources.
