I've just released ALT starterkits with a few flavours (namely gnome3/systemd,
icewm/sysvinit, and rescue) having a kernel with this hack applied, so you can
at least pass "i915.vbt_sdvo_panel_type=0" to the livecd kernel and boot
(should one choose to install such an image, editing /etc/sysconfig/grub2 and
running update-grub would become requisite): http://en.altlinux.org/starterkits
