Bug ID: 93574
Summary: Resume from Hibernate sometimes results in blank
screen
Product: DRI
Version: XOrg git
Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: DRM/Intel
Assignee: intel-gfx-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: jhnmlkvch9 at gmail.com
QA Contact: intel-gfx-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
CC: intel-gfx-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Hibernating (using systemd/uswsusp/pm-hibernate) randomly results in a blank
(no backlight) screen upon resume.
After many months of struggling to find any useful info for this problem, I
followed basic-pm-debugging instructions
(https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/power/basic-pm-debugging.txt) and
found this. I'm not entirely sure if this is the root cause (or even indeed the
only cause) of the blank screen issue, but figured I'd report it anyway.
(here is the input)
# echo devices > /sys/power/pm_test
# echo platform > /sys/power/disk
# echo disk > /sys/power/state
(from dmesg)
