dmesg description
The problem happens with Ubuntu 15.10, stock or with an upgraded graphic stack.
The hang happens every time with my config, so it is easy to reproduce.
How to reproduce:
1 - Install Steam
2 - Download Dirt Showdown
3 - Start Dirt Showdown with the following launch options:
MESA_GL_VERSION_OVERRIDE=4.1 MESA_GLSL_VERSION_OVERRIDE=410 %command%
Then the game hangs and exit when showing the AMD logo
Tested upgraded components from stock Ubuntu:
- Mesa 11.2 (git) from
https://launchpad.net/~paulo-miguel-dias/+archive/ubuntu/mesa
- Kernel 4.3.3 from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/
NOTE: The default Ubuntu 15.10 intel driver was crashing KDE plasma, I had to
downgrade the driver to xserver-xorg-video-intel_2.99.917-1ubuntu1_amd64.deb
from ubuntu 15.04. With the above PPA, i'm now at version
2:2.99.917+git1512160028.8229390~padoka0. Plasma doesn't crash anymore, but I
have some corruptions in Google Chrome
NOTE2: All other games that were working before the upgrade are still rendering
correctly, so this seems to be a bug with something that is used only by Dirt
Showdown.
